Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. It is a global collaboration, hosted by The Linux Foundation, including leaders in finance, banking, Internet of Things, supply chains, manufacturing and Technology. Hyperledger Meetup groups have an informal relationship with Hyperledger, and make up a key part of the Hyperledger ecosystem. Participation in a Hyperledger Meetup group is open to anyone–employees of a Hyperledger member company, Hyperledger contributors and developers, and people just passionate about blockchain technology.

Meet our Speakers:

Gerhard Dinhof

Gerhard Dinhof is a Senior Architect and Blockchain Lead at IBM SA, recently relocated from Vienna Austria. He has worked with blockchain technology since 2014 and has worked on major blockchain projects in the past. As a practitioner, IBM Code Advocate, and renowned RedBook course creator, Gerhard takes every opportunity to speak at conferences and meetups and deliver Blockchain classes.

Kyle Turner

Kyle Turner is a Consultant for The Deloitte Cyber Intelligence Centre in South Africa. He has been involved in Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology for the past 7 years and forms part of the core Blockchain team for Deloitte Risk Advisory in South Africa. Kyle is an active member of the South African Blockchain community and an Organizer for the Hyperledger Meetup in Johannesburg.

Fabian van der Merwe

Fabian van der Merwe has over 20 years experience in the IT sector ranging from website development to IT Management consulting services. Through his experience, Fabian has played a pivotal role in advancing IT initiatives and projects across various Industry sectors including finance, industrial, retail, hospitality, IT and manufacturing. Fabian is currently employed as a Project Manager and Business Analyst. In pursuing his passion in Disruptive Technologies, Fabian is involved with the Blockchain Academy as the Principal Lead and instructor for the Hyperledger course. He enjoys educating people on the practical uses of Disruptive Technology such as Blockchain.

Aatish Ramkaran

Aatish Ramkaran is a veteran solution architect who’s often been described as ‘contagiously passionate’. He thrives on discovering innovative solutions to complex problems and has been integrating and enhancing financial services for nearly a decade. He’s an active blockchain researcher and well known speaker at conferences and events focusing on this emerging technology. He is dedicated to demystifying the inner workings of technology and dispelling jargon to improve accessibility and understanding. He is a co-founder of BECSA (Blockchain Entrepreneurs Club South Africa)
